Handling Bad Behavior in the Class

For maintaining a positive, productive and conducive learning environment in the classroom, teachers require effective management of students’ behaviors. It has already been an accepted phenomenon that a class is always a mixture of different individuals with different needs and different learning styles. Apart from this, the students also come from different back grounds. To keep the classroom environment more productive, here are some of the strategies that can help teachers in handling the bad behavior:

1.Prevention: It is the key factor in handling the bad behavior of the students. Teachers must establish clear expectations and classroom rules from the beginning of the year to avoid any kind of bad behavior in the class. Reinforcing positive behavior and providing positive reinforcement for desired actions can play a vital role in this scenario.

2.Early Intervention: Teachers must address the minor issues at the earliest, so that, they won’t become bigger ones at the later stages. It is necessary to avoid public warnings or humiliation, as this can escalate the situation by hurting the self-respect and ego of the students.

3.Positive Relationships: Teachers should try to build positive rapport and trust with the students. Calling students with their names, getting to know their interests, backgrounds, and any underlying issues may contribute to neutralize the disruptive behavior of the students.

4.Redirection: Provide alternative activities or tasks for such students who are exhibiting disruptive behavior. Diverting their attention towards more productive engagement can bring a positive change in them that will ultimately influence their behavior in a positive manner.

5.Communication: Extensive and open communicate with the parents or guardians regarding the change in behavior of the students is also of great significance. This will help, not only the parents, but also the teachers to work on strategies to address the students’ behavioral issues.

6.Seek Support: If a student’s behavior is severe or not changing at all, seek assistance from school counselors, administrators, or specialized professionals.

Please remember that all the students are different individuals with different needs, demands and personalities. Therefore, it is necessary for the teachers to deal with the students in a flexible manner as well as adapt the strategies as per their needs. Be supportive and play the role of a mentor rather than an inspector to deal with the students with behavioral issues.

PAST A KEY TO SUCCESS

Past is always considered to be the bitterest parts of life and for most of us it pinches us a lot. But to me, its a wonderful and amazing teacher who teaches us practically and thus leaves unforgettable prints on our life.

During my past years, I have gone through many ups and downs. When I look back into my past, I can recall many incidents and many events that would be enough to discourage, demotivate and break a man with less confidence and trust (in Allah and in himself). But fortunately I remember someone saying:
You should consider past a ladder towards a successful life in the Future.
Therefore, keeping in mind this quote of some sage, I get the inspiration from my past and try my level best to achieve the goals that I have set for me. Its true that past memories, sometimes, pinches a lot but in my view if we wish to live a happy and peaceful life, we have to be very much positive in our life, so that, we can learn from our past events/ mistakes and must try to improve ourselves. I think the wise are those who improve themselves or learn from their own mistakes and then do their best not to repeat them in the coming years. This is not only a story of my life but its almost the story of everyone or we can say most of us. Our history is full of such examples and I think we have to get benefit from the experiences and mistakes of others to pave our way to success. We have to remember that life is very short and we have to do what we wanted to do in this life. Now, coming back to my point, if once you have decided to do something- just do it and once you have started doing it, don't regret on your decision or don't think that you have taken a wrong decision because it would demotivate and discourage you to keep on the track of doing what you have decided. Though there are many things that can be remembered but here I focus only two that are:
a) Be Positive: it will help us in observing and adapting good things.
b) Rejoice: don't regret on your decisions despite this rejoice and enjoy what you are doing.
These two things have always played an important and vital role in my life. Because of these two things, I'm very happy despite many bad-days. I'm happy because I'm spending my life according to my own choice without the interference of others. I'm happy because I'm free and independent to make my own decisions and I'm responsible for all the consequences.

To sum up, I would like to state here that 'Past is passed, Present is known, Future has to come but we have Present to make our Future Bright while keeping in mind our Past.'   Therefore, Be Positive and just come out of the past and its gloominess, be active in Present and rejoice to make your Future Bright and according to your own wish.
